The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is one of the largest medical student associations in the country committed to serving the needs and concerns of minority medical students.

Founded in 1964 by medical students at Howard University and Meharry Medical College, the organization provides service to underserved communities, information surrounding pivotal health concerns, and education to help the medical community serve the needs of our diverse society.

Our local chapter at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine works to fulfill SNMA’s national goals at our local level.
